Here at cannotbefound we are constantly on the look out for people to contribrute to our blog in areas we feel that need improving. So when Nik Young got in contact with us through our “Get involved” photography position, we were ready for a new face to join our team.
The choice was made even easier when we spoke to Nik about his involvement in the industry and his experimental work. Here’s what Nik had to say and some of his work to date.
“I am a 22 year old Photography and Graphic Design graduate trying to make my mark on the photography industry. I have a very experimental approach, and a lot of the work I produce can be put down to trial and error, and experimenting with one of the many film cameras that I have collected over the last few years, though I do use digital a lot as well. I like to focus on the chaotic, photographing subjects and situations that I dont have much, if any, control over. I don’t necessarily have a general style, it seems a little simplistic to simply say “I like my work to look good”, and I do strive for some sort of message or theme to come across in my work, but if someone sees a piece of mine that speaks to them on an aesthetic level and they make their own interpretation of it then that is fine by me! I currently hold the in house photographer position with Mud, a Leicester based arts collective, and I am also working freelance and completing personal projects.”

So we want to give a big welcome to Nik from the CBF team and we hope to push the photography section hard this year as a huge part of CBF.
